It is important to create safety and escape plans.

Create a password or code and give this to someone you trust. When you are in danger, you can text them the password or code and the person will understand the alert and come to rescue you.

Example: The password is ‘Aunt Anne’. The trusted person knows that you dislike your aunt and have not been in contact with her for a long time. When they receive your text saying, ‘How is Aunt Anne?’, they will immediately know you need help and can contact help and services for you.

If you find yourself in danger abroad, immediately contact the UK embassy.
