What is bullying?

Bullying is when one person seeks to harm, intimidate, or manipulate you, which causes physical or mental suffering. This is normally intended to torment you repeatedly and persistently on a regular basis.

The abuser enjoys inflicting, as well as seeing, harmful effects on others. 

Recognising bullying

Bullying can involve:

  • Hitting
  • Humiliating 
  • Insulting 
  • Pushing
  • Pulling
  • Name-calling

It can also involve: 

  • Not talking to you.
  • Ignoring you.
  • Not helping you.
